KidEquity is the payroll application for business owners who employ their own children. Hours are logged while the work is happening. Nothing is reconstructed from memory in April. The application installs from a link and runs from an icon on your home screen, with no app store involved and no signal required.
The application carries two sides. On the parent side you approve each week, watch every earnings ceiling, and produce the year end file. On the young worker side your child starts and stops the clock, opens the checklist assigned to that job, ticks each step against a time stamp nobody can edit, photographs the finished work, and sends the week to you in one tap.
Three powers are withheld from the young worker side on purpose. A child cannot approve their own hours, cannot record a payment, and cannot run the payroll. The worker records and the supervisor approves, and that separation is what makes the record credible when somebody asks to see it.
The application tracks a full working year. Thirty one steps across five phases show what has been done and what comes next. Forty one job checklists across four age bands carry the actual tasks, and nine of them open with a caution before the work begins. Forty two questions across eight groups answer the rules as they arise, and five orientation videos play inside the application rather than sending a child out to a public watch page.
Earnings are watched against the standard deduction ceiling person by person, and the eighteenth and twenty first birthdays are tracked so both arrive as decisions rather than surprises. Year end produces four record sets: a file for your accountant, an audit response file drawn from a log the application will not let anybody edit, a spreadsheet export, and a backup for yourself.
